Terms of Use
Important. Astrela is for entertainment and self-reflection. Its readings and AI answers are not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice and can be wrong. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 in the US, or call 112 or the Telefonseelsorge at 0800 111 0 111 in Germany.
1. Who we are
These terms are an agreement between you and Mohamad Khaled Osmani, Frida-Kahlo-Straße 21, 38126 Braunschweig, Germany ("we", "us"), the provider of the Astrela app and website.
2. The service
Astrela calculates your birth chart from the data you enter and offers readings, a chat, compatibility, a journal and notifications. Some features need a subscription. AI-generated content is produced automatically, can be inaccurate or incomplete, and does not reflect our opinions. Don't base important decisions on it alone.
3. Who can use Astrela
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
4. Your account
Astrela creates an anonymous account on your device. If you delete the app or lose the device, we may not be able to restore your data, but you can restore your subscription with "Restore purchases". You can delete your account at any time in Profile.
5. Subscriptions
- Subscriptions are sold by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) and charged to that account. Their terms, including any refund and withdrawal rules, apply to the purchase.
- A free trial, where offered, converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
- To keep the service fair and affordable, the chat has usage limits (for example, a daily number of messages).
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Astrela to break the law, to harass anyone, or to create harmful content; don't try to get around limits, use the chat as a general-purpose AI service, scrape or reverse-engineer the app, or disrupt our systems. Only enter another person's data if they are fine with it. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly break these rules.
7. Content
What you write stays yours. You allow us to process it as far as needed to provide Astrela, as described in our Privacy Policy. You may use the readings and answers for personal, non-commercial purposes. The app, its design, texts and software belong to us or our licensors.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Astrela available but can't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features when there is a good reason, for example technical or legal requirements, while keeping what you have paid for in substance.
9. Liability
We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations (those that make the contract possible and on which you may rely), limited to the damage typical and foreseeable for this kind of contract. Otherwise our liability is excluded. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Astrela at any time and delete your account in the app. Cancel paid subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play settings.
11. Additional terms for the Apple App Store
If you downloaded Astrela from the App Store:
- These terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
- You may use the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- We alone are responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide any.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
- Questions, complaints or claims about the app go to us: support@ask-astrela.app.
12. Law and disputes
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live. We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when there is a good reason, such as new features or legal changes. We'll tell you about significant changes in the app in advance. If you keep using Astrela after they take effect, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can delete your account and cancel your subscription.
